This is just a tool for discrimination, Skill over time played, Skill over endless hours farmed for max items. If players are discriminating, they should be deciding based on gameplay talent, not equiptment. Players can already look at a players armor and get a general idea of what kind of investment they make in their equiptment, and that is the most that should be visible.
This is another bad idea from a game which either wasn't good at all, or simply isn't good for this game. Just because it is in another game doesn't make it good for this one. Tools for selfish, petty, elitist, immature players arn't good additions. Any insignificant amount of satisfaction some may get from showing off their items isn't a reason to introduce a tool which will be used to make petty discrimination against teammates.

Why inspect the armor theres nothing wrong with what people use in your party, never had an incident when peoples items in the party affected gameplay.

No Alex is right. This would be abused to Hell and back.
I know plenty of people that are great in this game both PVE and PVP and have none, or a limited selection of near perfect or perfect weapons. Those people would get the shaft by thousands of little kids that only want the "1337" kids in their group.
Absolutely not.

Who said it was a PUG? :P No offence to PUGS, but most of them don't even realise there's a white circle on the radar, much less have the slighest understanding of what it is.

With my friends I trust them enough so I wouldn't need to trust them, especially checking each piece like you suggested. Therefore I assumed that you were talking about pugs with your comment about people understanding the aggro and therefore only tanks needing decent armor.
